This talk will open with a brief history explaining the evolution of
physical literacy and it’s adoption worldwide. The basic features of physical literacy will be explained and how they mesh with fitness, exercise in terms of programming and even design of facilities. This talk will outline how to construct positive challenges suitable to all levels of ability, so as to achieve positive movement experiences leading to development of not only physical competencies, but also psychological, social and creative abilities through movement.

Dean Kriellaars

Dean Kriellaars is a professor in
the Rehabilitation Sciences at the
University of Manitoba. He is the
scientific Director at the National
Circus School in Montreal. He is the
senior lead for the development of
the Health and Physical Education
Curriculum in Manitoba. He is a global
leader in the field of physical literacy.
