What makes a great coach, trainer, kinesiologist, nutritionist or group fitness instructor? What defines exceptional service? Is it the technical skill set possessed (i.e. credentials, exceptional programming, technology & equipment)? Or is it the non technical / soft skills (i.e. effective communication, building trust, emotional intelligence, being supportive & or having great energy). While, they are both important, research shows that the non-technical interactions a person has with a client have a larger impact on the overall perception of service quality than the technical interactions. This session we will dive into the science of “BE”havior & how behavior impacts quantifiable outcomes (i.e. “BE”havioral Economics).

Chad Benson

Chad Benson MSc, BSc, BPE, CSCS, CanFitPro PTS: Educated at the University of Victoria and Memorial University of NL, Chad is the Director of Education for Innovative Fitness & Innovative Training Academy. Past training experiences include strength & conditioning roles with Canada Basketball, the Vancouver Canucks, the Canadian Sport Center, B2Ten & Twist Conditioning. Chad is a TriggerPoint™ & Bulgarian Bag Master Trainer. He also holds certifications in fitness business, kettlebell, mobility, olympic lifting, myofascial release, muay thai & kickboxing. Chad is a published author, an accomplished public speaker and has developed numerous fitness educational systems. In his spare time Coach Benson enjoys the odd newfie joke, all things fitness, exploring scientific journals, red wine, recreational hockey, tennis, and warm weather destinations.
